Meet Our New Superintendent

    The Alexandria City School Board has selected Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings, Jr., a graduate of T.C. Williams High School, as Superintendent of ACPS.

    The selection is the result of a rigorous five-month process, during which you, our community, shared input on the key qualities and characteristics desired in our next superintendent. We appreciate your input and thank you for your contribution to this selection process.

    Dr. Hutchings will be meeting with groups from the community between now and when he starts his role on July 1. There will be a series of meet and greet sessions in early spring. Read more.

Kindergarten Registration 2018

    Kindergarten registration for the 2018-19 school year begins Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 3 to 7 p.m. at all elementary schools.

New West End School

  • New West End School

    ACPS has purchased and is moving towards retrofitting the office building at 1701 N. Beauregard, making substantial changes to the inside to convert it into an elementary school for 650 students. The new West End school is expected to be ready to open in time for the start of the school year in fall 2018. Learn more.
